Business Strategy

Since the company was founded Isconova has developed and manufactured adjuvants for the veterinary vaccine market. During 2009 Isconova decided to enter the human vaccine market as well. Isconovas new strategy is to become the partner of choice for companies both in the human and the veterinary vaccine market, and in addition to have a larger ownership of the vaccine products.

To obtain this target Isconova will:

Increase the ownership of clinical documentation

Ownership of clinical data is the most important factor for Isconova to become an attractive partner and to be able to get attractive contracts. Isconova will therefore document the mechanism of action, the efficacy and the safety of Matrix M™ in human and veterinary studies through phase I/II studies that are performed and/or controlled by Isconova.

Vaccine projects

Isconova plans to develop and initiate vaccine projects in commercially attractive disease areas such as malaria, rabies, foot and mouth disease, mastitis and leishmania, where Isconovas adjuvants are expected to create vaccines of high quality. A way for Isconova to acquire commercial rights for a vaccine is to cooperate with vaccine companies where Isconova will get the commercial rights in certain geographical areas.

Develop strategic collaboration with vaccine companies in emerging markets

Through collaboration with vaccine companies in the emerging market countries Isconova will establish a presence in these important markets. These vaccine companies are often present in limited geographical regions. Isconova can therefore in exchange for its technology obtain commercial rights for the jointly developed vaccines in other geographical areas, as described above.

Participate in the current market consolidation

Isconova is continuously evaluating opportunities to grow through acquisitions and/or mergers with companies with attractive patents or know-how in the human or veterinary markets.
